1932

Charles and Sena Stimpert move to Springfield, MN
The Stimperts start a small cabinet business on their farm. They build their first house using prefabricated walls.
1946

Business Expands
Stimpert opens a production facility in Sleepy Eye, MN. They build both commercial and residential dwellings in their new facility. Prefabricated wall panel manufacturing line is developed.
1947

Stimpert Employs WWII Veterans
In support of the returning troops, Stimpert offers vets employment opportunities in carpentry, welding, and other trades.
1951
Additional Facility Erected
Stimpert purchases an existing cabinet shop in New Ulm, MN and installs another prefabricated wall manufacturing line.
1953

Business Incorporates – Arnold Stimpert Purchases and Becomes New Owner
Arnold Stimpert, son of Charles and Sena, buys the business. Arnold and his wife Margaret are the new owners.
1956

Arnold and Margaret’s Sons Join Business
Gerold and Merton, sons of Arnold and Margaret, join business and become shareholders.
1958

Business Flourishes
Stimpert flourishes during the period of 1958-1980 as a result of the self-help program, G.I. loans, FHA, and HUD programs.
1959

Stimpert Doubles In Size
Stimpert builds three new facilities on their existing site in Sleepy Eye, MN and employ 25 people.



1981

Housing Market Slows Down
As a result of high interest rates and a downturn in the economy, the housing market slows down. Stimpert begins building farm structures and large custom homes.
1988

Strong Resurgence In Housing &
Leadership Changes Hands
1988-2010
During this period of strong growth, Stimpert leadership changes. Merton and Gerald bring their sons, Dean and Mike, aboard. Market expands to include all of MN, WI, IA, and the Dakotas.
Today

Expanded Services Offered
Stimpert expands services to include remodeling. Prefabricated wall manufacturing and custom designed homes continue.
